"This year will be different."
We often say that going into a new year, and we want to mean it. We make resolutions, hit the gym, start diets, and countless other things - but on our own terms. Rarely (if ever) are we willing to make drastic changes in our lives, because we are often too comfortable to care.
The church in America has become that level of comfortable. We reduce our typical gatherings to an hour on Sunday mornings where we expect to be entertained and engaged and then leave and go about our week. But the early church we find in the book of Acts presents an entirely different structure and schedule. They gathered daily, they shared communion daily, they shared with each other daily… and through it all, they devoted themselves to 4 main things: teaching, the fellowship, the breaking of bread and prayer. If a church were to do these things today, it would be, well… RADICAL.
I’d like to encourage you to join us on this journey. You’d be surprised about the things you can actually say “no” to in your schedule - should you choose to. What would our lives look like if we, just like the early church, devoted ourselves daily to these things? I realize that everyone won’t be able to make it to everything; but what if we did? The reality is that most people won’t be willing to change this much around for a month; but what if we were?
The calendar below shows you all the opportunities you have to gather with us daily, if you’re willing to. You’ll be invited to share communion daily, whether at home or here with us. If you have any questions or would like to join a group, simply email us. I'm looking forward to seeing what God does in our hearts and in our church.
